June: Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. was established, which is located in the high-tech Industrial Development Zone of Xiangyang city, Hubei Province. It is a modern medium and heavy engine manufacturing company jointly established by Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. and Cummins Company of the United States with 50:50 equity ratio.
2005
Cummins has set up a joint venture with Shaanxi Automobile Group in Xi ‘an to produce ISM 11-liter fully electronically controlled diesel engines, cummins’ flagship heavy-truck engine. Â
December 16:Xi ‘an Cummins Engine company is a Sino-US joint venture jointly established by Shaanxi Automobile Group and Cummins with 50:50 equity.

Cummins signed a joint venture contract with Beiqi Foton to produce cummins high performance light diesel engines in Beijing.

BFCEC is determined by BEIQI Foton Motor Co., LTD and Cummins Company according to 50:Â Â 50 the equivalence ratio of investment to form, its joint venture of positioning is to build a world-class light engine operations, however, in the process of development, because of foton medium-duty especially heavy truck “heart” too dependent on society, not only to tie the “hands” of its development, also makes its products lack unique competitive advantage.

Guangxi Cummins Industrial Power Co., LTD. (GCIC) is the first enterprise invested by Cummins in China focusing on the production of construction machinery engines. It was registered on June 27, 2012 and located in Liuzhou city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.  Guangxi Cummins Industrial Power Co.,Ltd. is an engine manufacturing enterprise jointly established by Cummins and Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co.,Ltd. in a 50/50 ratio.
